Statement by the Prime Minister on the death of the Honourable Jack Horner
November 20, 2004
“It is with sadness that I learned of the passing of the Honourable Jack Horner, first elected to the House of Commons in 1958 representing the riding of Acadia in Alberta.
Mr. Horner was a longstanding Member of Parliament, an accomplished Parliamentarian who was committed to serving his country and province. He had a profound belief in public service and gave the better part of his working life to serving Canadians. His constituents recognized his value and contribution and they demonstrated their confidence by electing Mr. Horner to represent them in the House of Commons in seven successive federal elections.
On behalf of the government and all Canadians, Sheila and I extend our deepest sympathies to his family.”
