One of the key commitments we made in the Speech from the Throne was to brand Canada as one of the most innovative nations in the world.

Our very successful Team Canada visit to Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong allowed us to move forward on this commitment.

Canadian businesses came back with new deals worth more than $5.7 billion. Deals that will create jobs here. That will raise Canada's profile in China and elsewhere around the world. And that will continue to encourage China on its path towards democracy and the rule of law.

This is the kind of leadership we promised Canadians. And we are just getting started.
