Prime Minister Announces Reappointment 
 Of Chief Government Whip, Deputy Whip

Prime Minister Jean Chrétien announced today the reappointment of Bob Kilger, M.P. (Stormont-Dundas) as Chief Government Whip, and Marlene Catterall, M.P. (Ottawa West-Nepean) as Deputy Government Whip.

Mr. Kilger was first elected to the House of Commons in 1988. During the last Parliament, Mr. Kilger served as Assistant Deputy Chairman of Committees of the Whole, as Deputy Chairman of Committees of the Whole, and since October 1996, as Chief Govermment Whip.

Ms. Catterall was first elected to the House of Commons in 1988. She was appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the President of the Treasury Board in December 1993, and as Deputy Government Whip in September 1994.
