Prime Minister Announces Visit of Japanese Prime Minister 
Yoshiro Mori

Prime Minister Jean Chrétien today announced that Japanese Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori will visit Ottawa on May 4, 2000, as part of his consultations as current Chair of the G-8.

"As a strong supporter of the G-8 process, I am committed to working closely with Prime Minister Mori and the rest of my G-8 colleagues to build a focused agenda for the next Summit," said the Prime Minister. "I look forward to exchanging views with Prime Minister Mori on the major themes and issues to be addressed in July at the Summit in Okinawa.

Prime Minister Mori’s meetings in Canada are part of a wider tour of G-8 member countries.
