Note:
- Pregnancies equal the sum of live births, fetal loss, and induced abortions.
- Rates for the “All Ages” group are based on the population of women aged 15-49 years. The numerator used in the rate calculation is the total number of live births, occurring to women, regardless of their age.
- Totals for "All ages" include number of events with unspecified age groups.
- Rates for "Under 20 years" are based on the female population aged 14-19 years. Rates for "Under 15 years" are based on the female population aged 14 years. Rates for "40 years and over" are based on the female population aged 40-44 years.
- There are some differences between the counts and rates presented in Pregnancy outcome by age group table and those in the Induced abortions by age group table. Differences are due to the increased estimation of age groups in the Pregnancy outcome table, and the use of different populations in the calculation of the rate for ‘All ages’. For more information, see the Methodology and data quality section of Pregnancy outcomes (82-224-XWE).
