Authorization to have the Authority and Powers of a Peace Officer

With respect to subsection 138(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, I hereby repeal the Authorization to Have the Authority and Powers of a Peace Officer issued on April 21, 2006, and authorize the officers who hold the following titles to have the authority and powers of a peace officer – including those set out in sections 487 to 492.2 of the Criminal Code – to enforce the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, including any of its provisions with respect to the arrest, detention, or removal from Canada of any person:

  • Regional Intelligence Officer
  • Inland Enforcement Officer
  • Investigator
  • Regional Program Officer
  • Director, Regional Programs
  • Regional Director General
  • Border Services Officer
  • Manager, Detention Operations
  • Superintendent
  • Supervisor, Inland Enforcement
  • Manager, Regional Programs
  • Intelligence Analyst
  • Intelligence Officer
  • Hearing Advisor
  • Hearings Officer
  • Chief of Operations
