The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has developed the eManifest Portal primarily for small- to medium-sized businesses, to help clients comply with eManifest requirements and ease their transition from paper reporting to pre-arrival electronic data transmission. The Portal also allows the CBSA’s trade partners to store data, query, and verify the status of their shipments through the Internet.
The eManifest Portal is accessible from the CBSA Web site.
The eManifest Portal provides many self-serve functions such as the ability to:
There are two types of accounts in the eManifest Portal – an eManifest Portal User Account and a Business Account. Each person who works in the Portal must first set up an eManifest Portal User Account. To set up a User Account, the user will need to provide information, such as their name, e-mail address and telephone number.
The Business Account is set up by an authorized representative of the business, called an Account Owner. The Account Owner will need a valid, CBSA-issued carrier code and a Shared Secret. For further information on the process for obtaining a carrier code, visit the Commercial Carriers section of the CBSA Web site. Refer to the eManifest section for information on how to obtain a Shared Secret.
