Louay Khalil removed from Canada

Calgary, Alberta, July 30, 2013 —The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) today announced that Louay Khalil has been removed from Canada for serious criminality. The 36-year-old Calgary resident was removed to Lebanon under CBSA escort on July 17, 2013.

Khalil was ordered deported in February 2011 following two sexual assault convictions for which he received an 18-month suspended sentence. He was released into CBSA custody on April 16, 2013 and remained in detention pending his removal from Canada.

The CBSA is committed to removing foreign criminals from Canada. These actions demonstrate the CBSA is fulfilling its mandate of ensuring the safety and security of Canada and Canadians.
