CBSA statement regarding its operations in Drummondville, Quebec

Montréal, Quebec, February 23, 2011 – Following a meeting with the representatives of the Drummondville Economic Development Group today, Bernard Brie, Regional Director General for the Quebec Region at the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), made the following statement regarding the CBSA inland office in Drummondville, Quebec.

"We had a cordial and productive discussion with stakeholders in Drummondville. The transfer of service from Drummondville to Stanhope means that travellers and businesses will receive the same customs service from a different location. It is important to note that the Stanhope office is open 24/7.

The CBSA remains committed to ensuring that travellers and local residents are informed of the changes, and we will continue to work with communities and local stakeholders to minimize any inconvenience caused by these changes. They should also know that we will continue to ensure the security of the Canadian border in an efficient, cost-effective manner as expected by Canadian taxpayers."
