International Paris Air Show: business opportunities for the Quebec SMEs

From June 17 to 23, 2013, the eyes of the world’s aerospace industry were turned on the 50th International Paris Air Show at Le Bourget. Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions funded a trade mission in collaboration with Aéro Montréal and was represented at the Show by a delegation led by Minister Denis Lebel.

The Agency took full advantage of this opportunity to meet and discuss with the Quebec business representatives in attendance and to offer its assistance to major international contract givers looking to forge business partnerships in Quebec.

With more than 2,000 exhibitors from 44 countries and over 150,000 visitors, the 2013 Paris Air Show is an ideal showcase for promoting the know-how of Quebec’s aerospace firms on the world stage.

The Quebec sector includes some 210 enterprises that together provide employment to more than 42,500 people. It ranks sixth in the world in terms of billings and accounts for 55% of all Canadian aerospace industry sales. These are competitive advantages that are sure to serve Quebec firms well in promoting their expertise on the international level.
