Grand Forks
City of Grand Forks
Central to the Grand Fork's Web site is its city hall. Municipal government information is organized into six sections: Public
Works, Legislative Services, Fire Department, Accounts, Permits and Bylaws. The phrase "coming soon" is used as the site is still
under development. The sections are informative; however, they suffer from overuse of tables, photos, and a distracting background.
Under Public Works, municipal policies, guidelines, and regulations are described with appropriate contacts listed. City Council and
committees are listed. Full text of the Accounts bylaws is given. Guidelines for building permits are summarized. Bylaws are listed
in table form by number, date of adoption, amendment, and description. Related links to and about Grand Forks are also included.

North Vancouver
City of North Vancouver
An unique feature of the City of North Vancouver Web site is its multilingual information about the city in Chinese, Farsi,
English, Japanese, and Spanish. Key visuals highlight the major sections: City Hall, Tourism, Economic Development, Community
Groups, Recreation, and Emergency Services. The Top Ten most commonly asked questions (with their answers) range from "How do I know
if I live in the City?" to "What is my Garbage Schedule?". It is possible to conduct a keyword search of the site, browse a detailed
hierarchical index, submit an online property search, and view a detailed map of the city. Several city bylaws are online; some in
standard format and others as .pdf files. Photos together with mailing, residential, and email addresses are given for the Mayor and
councillors. Current election results plus archived results dating from 1974 are reported. View News Releases back to May, 1998. In
addition to the Official Community Plan, North Vancouver has developed a Social Plan intended to define a vision for the quality of
life in North Vancouver and to identify a number of new and ongoing actions the City will take over the next five years to address
community social issues. The Web site admirably aids the City of North Vancouver in its Mission "to continue to provide effective
