Hearne at the Coppermine River, 1771

Explorer and fur trader Samuel Hearne travelled through much of the Northwest Territories between 1770 and 1775. These documents, related to the stamp issued in his honour in 1971, show a map of the Coppermine River drawn by Hearne himself.
