4.1 CIDL and AlouetteCanada Technical Committee
At the September 11, 2006 meeting of the Alouette Technical Committee, CIDL representative Brian Bell (past Chair CIDL) reported on the benefits that the Inventory of Canadian Digital Initiatives provides; namely, increased public access to knowledge, and the ability to harvest statistical information about digitization efforts in Canada. CIDL Coordinator Michelle Landriault presented on the administrative challenges of maintaining the Inventory. Angela O'Doherty of Library and Archives Canada (Applications Management) reported on the current web structure of the Inventory.
The AlouetteCanada Technical Committee will undertake to further develop the Inventory.
4.2 Digital Canada numérique
On September 28, 2006 CIDL Chair Bill Maes met with the AlouetteCanada Steering Committee to discuss whether the CIDL interests of participation rights and continuity can be served through Alouette. It was proposed and accepted unanimously that CIDL will take part in this process, to be represented by: Chair Bill Maes, Vice-Chair Johanna Wellheiser, and Steering Committee member Gwen Ebbett. Library and Archives Canada will have observer status.
