For almost 40 years
beginning in 1945, Lotta Hitschmanova (1909-1991) was the executive director of
Canadas oldest overseas relief and development agency, the Unitarian Service
Committee of Canada (USC Canada). Well-known throughout Canada, she inspired financial
campaigns which enabled USC Canada to undertake development programs in countries
throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
