So you met Connie! — Do you realize she's liberated?..., August 12, 1981, by Lynn Johnston

Lynn Johnston, born in 1947, is Canada's most widely syndicated cartoonist. Her daily comic strip, For Better or for Worse, was first published in 1979 and by 1981 had an estimated 50 million readers around the world. Her characters come from real life, where universal themes of birth, death, marriage, parenthood (single and double), adolescence, and all the joys and difficulties of family life are found. In 1986, she was the first woman cartoonist to receive the U.S. National Cartoonists Society's Reuben Award.

The National Archives holds more than 500 Lynn Johnston cartoon strips.
