This print symbolizes the protest of the Innu of Labrador against the low-level military test flights and social problems in the remote community of Davis Inlet. The central image is of four young children. The military jets represent the low-level test aircraft, the caribou symbolize the threat to wildlife and to the traditional lifestyle of the Innu. The scales of justice speak for themselves. The epidemic of gas sniffing among many Innu children today bespeaks the problems this community faces. The National Archives has acquired a collection of photographic portraits by David Neel (born 1960) as well as several other prints that address recent issues concerning Canada's First Peoples.
