The witty and humourous drawings and sketches of Henri O. Julien (1852-1908) make him one of the most important Canadian newspaper illustrators. During his long assignment to Parliament Hill in Ottawa at the turn of the last century, Julien sketched from life many ministers, members of Parliament and reporters. After working as an illustrator for the Canadian Illustrated News, he became artistic director of the Montreal Star in 1888. C-114621 |
