Synod Hall and Sunday School, St. George's Cathedral, Kingston, Ontario, 1865, by Thomas Fuller

The Kingston architectural firm founded in 1846 by John Power is one of the oldest continuing architectural practices in Canada. This drawing is part of a recent Archives' acquistion of 253 drawings of exceptional interest created between 1854 and 1939.

In 1859 Fuller was the architect of of Canada's first Parliament Buildings. Appointed Dominion Chief Architect in 1881, he established a government architectural style that lasted well into the 20th century.
