Winnipeg General Strike, May 15 - June 25, 1919 (silent)
|
Thirty thousand workers downed their tools and walked off the job seeking bargaining rights, better wages and better working conditions. A police charge killed one striker and wounded thirty others. First we see anti-strike First World War veterans marching in support of the government. The strike gained world-wide attention. ISN 220304 Video
