Temporary Closure of the Library and Archives of Canada from March 31 to April 1, 2003

The Library and Archives of Canada will be closed for two days to allow staff to participate in a planning session on the transformation of the National Archives and the National Library into one institution, the Library and Archives of Canada. Services will be available as follows:

Registration Desk
There will be no registration for new client research passes during these two days; however, expired research passes will be accepted. Clients who have pre-registered for research passes may pick them up at the security desk.

Reading Rooms

After-hours and weekend services will be provided to researchers using the Reading Rooms on the second and third floors. Material held in lockers may be retrieved but staff assistance and retrieval services will not be available.

Reference Rooms
The Reference Rooms on the second and third floors will be open to allow access to computers, publications and research tools.

Consultation Rooms
The third-floor consultation room for Specialized Media and the fourth-floor Special Collections consultation room will be closed.

Copying Services
Self-serve photocopying on the second floor will be accessible. Self-serve copying on the third floor will not be available. All other copying services will be suspended.

Exhibitions
All exhibitions will remain open.

Federal Records Centres
The Federal Records Centre in the National Capital Region will provide regular services.

Incoming Deliveries and Courier Services
Limited services will be provided.
