Summary:
In its review of Department of Fisheries and Oceans policies and practices, the commission should be guided by the principle that the health of wild salmon communities is our collective responsibility and top priority. The continued well-being of Fraser River sockeye salmon is a prerequisite to a sustainable fishery, and conservation objectives must not be balanced against short-term economic gain.
