Please allow live streaming of the Commission hearings. There is great interest in these hearings both within and outside of British Columbia. I wonder if we realize the incalculable value of wild salmon to the economy and biodiversity of northwest Canada.
The long-term health of the Northwest Pacific salmon runs is vital not just to all of Canada, but directly to millions of consumers in North America and elsewhere. Such a huge and precious resource truly is of global significance.
If we haven't learned the lessons of the obliteration of the Atlantic cod population on Canada's eastern coast, then perhaps we are already doomed. |
