Summary:
Salmon farms must be monitored to mitigate the impact of parasites and ensure fish health. Monetary grants should be given for research into an environmental solution to sea lice. More hatcheries should be built to ensure the health of wild salmon stocks.

Submission:
Natural salmon must be protected as one of Canada's most recognizable resources. Farming salmon, while acceptable, must be monitored to ensure the health of the fish and the impact of parasites if allowed to escape. I cannot believe that biologists and scientists cannot find a solution to the mites, that is totally "green" and harmless to the fish, monetary grants should be given for this research. More hatcheries should be built to ensure the run of the natural fish.
