Summary:
The 2010 Fraser sockeye return cannot be seen as a reason to cease investigation into the possible reasons for the downward trend over past years. The commission should strive to remain uninfluenced by provincial and federal political agendas.

Submission:
Regrettably, I am not able to attend any of the Commission enquiries. However, I would like to express my support for a full and impartial investigation into the apparent precipitous decline of Fraser salmon stock over the past several years. It is acknowledged that the current year’s run shows a very significant increase; however, this cannot be seen as a reason to cease investigation into the possible reasons for downward trend over past years. It is my most sincere hope that the Commission will manage to remain uninfluenced by any political agendas, either federal or provincial. Impartial findings by the Commission will carry great weight in the establishment of future policy governing this particular area of the salmon environment on the West Coast.
Thank you.
