Summary:
The failure of the DFO to share key information with the public about the health of wild salmon seriously undermines the credibility of the government's position that salmon farming is not a serious risk to the health of the BC coastal ecosystem.

Submission:
The wild salmon farming industry as well as the healthy ecosystems on which it depends is severely threatened by Atlantic Salmon imports and farming in our waters. This much is scientific fact. Why are we gambling with the natural heritage that all British Columbians feel proud of and aspire to pass on to future generations? The failure of the DFO to share key information with the public about the present state of health of our wild salmon stock, in particular, newly emerging virus strains, seriously undermines the credibility of the government's position that salmon farming is not a serious risk to the health of the BC Coastal ecosystem.
