The hearings on ISAv should be live streamed.

Submission:
Dear Justice Cohen,

I am concerned about the discovery of the ISA virus in B.C. salmon. As a PhD student in Resource Management and Environmental Studies at the University of British Columbia I understand the pressure on government and industry to produce a cost-effective farmed salmon product. However, I also believe that science should take precedence in environmental management decisions when it is available and when there is evidence that a particular practice may cause substantial harm to a resource. I worry that recent publicity surrounding the farmed salmon issue is quickly moving this from a resource management arena into a political one and is marginalizing the role of science in the process. I ask you to please permit a live-stream of the current phase of the inquiry so that those concerned with this issue around the province can hear from experts themselves, rather that from advocates on either side of the debate.

Thank you,

Nathan Vadeboncoeur
