Summary:
More integrity is needed in government and fish farm operators, and fish farms should be removed from protected waters.

Submission:
Unfortunately, I believe that aquaculture is here to stay due to increasing demand for fish and overfishing in general. How we manage aquaculture is the key. Politics and science don't mix well and I believe that politics have interfered at the DFO with the result that the DFO now has almost zero credibility. We need more integrity in government, in government departments and especially in the foreign fish farm operators who also have poor credibility as was evident in the leaked Mainstream BC minutes. We need to remove the fish farms from our protected waters preferably to closed containment land based operations.
