Submission 1015-PRATT

Summary:
The hearings on ISAv should be live streamed.

Submission:
I understand that the Cohen Commission will have 3 extra days to address the problem of ISA virus. I also understand that it is refusing to allow live-streaming of this public inquiry and that there are people who have stepped up to do this at no charge.
Since the inquiry is public and it is looking at a public resource, and since we are paying for the court time, the lawyers, the judge and the salaries of some of the people on the stand, shouldn't it be open to everyone, even those 900 km up the Fraser River who may not be able to afford the time or money to attend the inquiry?
Considering the rumours out there that the government has been hiding information regarding its knowledge of the ISA virus, wouldn't it make better sense to have this process completely available to all Canadians?
