Fête fransaskoise

La Fête fransaskoise is a must for anyone who wants to have fun in French. Every year, during the first weekend of August, over 1,500 people attend this celebration. A different community volunteers to host the event each year. The host community receives the support of la Commission culturelle fransaskoise. La Fête offers a wide range of social and cultural activities for people of all ages. It also contributes to the economy of the communities which host it by generating revenues averaging $50,000

Rendez-vous fransaskois/Hommage aux bénévoles

Every fall, Francophones from all over the province meet at Le Rendez-vous fransaskois, held each year in a different city. Workshops, discussion groups and the annual meeting of l'Association culturelle franco-canadienne de la Saskatchewan allow the Fransaskois to share information, renew friendships and build a stonger network.

During this weekend, a special reception, Hommage aux bénévoles, offers an occasion to pay tribute to the generosity of community volunteers in various fields of activity.

Fransaskois Games, Rendez-vous fou

Just before the end of the school year, it's time for Fransaskois youth to cut loose. Les Jeux fransaskois is a day of track and field competition for Fransaskois youth. After all the sweating is over, it's time for Le Rendez-vous fou, an evening of musical performances featuring local artists and well known Francophone bands.These events are organized by l'Association jeunesse frans

Community Events

The dynamism of the Fransaskois community shows itself through a variety of events organized by local groups. Among these activities are La Fête des Moissons (Harvest Festival) in Ponteix, the Fransaskois pavillon during Folkfest in Saskatoon, la Semaine fransaskoise (the Fransaskois Week) and la Cave à vin in Prince Albert, the improvisation league and Les Fous du roi concerts in Regina. And, of course, most Fransaskois communities celebrate la Saint-Jean-Baptiste, the French Canadian national holiday

Fransask'art

The artistic expression of a community is an important ingredient of its cultural vitality. This is why l'Association des artistes de la Saskatchewan organizes Fransask'art, an annual retreat for Francophone artists of various disciplines.

During this week, at the end of summer, artists can share with their peers and receive information from professionals working in their discipline.

Fransaskois Musical Gala

The Gala is an annual showcase for young Fransaskois singers and songwriters. The selected participants receive a week of workshops and training by professionals. The winners from the Gala participate in an interprovincial competition which is a stepping-stone to the renowned Festival de la chanson de Granby (Granby's music festival, held in Granby, Québec). More than a competition, the Gala is an occasion for young artists to further their skills and to be part of a professional performance.The Gala fransaskois is a joint project of l'Association des artistes de la Saskatchewan and la Commission culturelle fransaskoise

Scout Camporee

At the end of the school year, all groups of scouts from each region meet for a camping weekend. Close to 200 Francophone scouts, scoutmasters, and volunteer parents take part in games, activities, a mass and a bonfire, all involving environmental and nature themes. The weekend ends with everyone partipating in an orientation obstacle course. The Camporee is a fun weekend for all!

Summer Camps

Every summer, various summer camps offer Fransaskois youth an occasion to meet and have fun in French. In addition to Camp voyageur, a week long summer camp, various summer activites are initiated at the community level, such as Le Camp du jour, organized by the parents of l'École Valois in Prince Albert.
