La Commission devrait étudier les preuves relatives à la transmission des maladies des saumons d’aquaculture aux saumons sauvages. Elle devrait aussi demander à des sources indépendantes crédibles du ministère des Pêches et des Océans, comme Alexandra Morton, de témoigner.

Représentations :
I am concerned that net-cage salmon are spreading disease to the wild salmon that pass these nets on their migration routes. I ask that the Commission examine the evidence supporting this concern very carefully and call on credible sources such as Alexandra Morton to testify. It is important that sources independent of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans be consulted on this issue, as the Department appears to have a bias in favour of net-cage farming.
