Comme le MPO est en conflit d’intérêts, c’est à un laboratoire international, neutre et réputé qu’on devrait confier la tâche de recueillir, en divers endroits le long de la côte, du saumon et de lui faire subir toutes les batteries de tests voulus. Madame Kristi Miller devrait être subventionnée pour ses travaux, qu’il faudrait rendre publics.

To secure the future of West Coast wild Salmon, including those of the Fraser, it must be necessary to accurately determine the nature and extent of any disease the salmon have. This is a no brainer, as is the observation that an open, scientific investigation of these features of the problem has been suppressed, or at least resisted. Evidence of conflict of interest by DFO, the federal, and provincial government has been demonstrated. So an internationally neutral and respected lab should both gather and extensively test the salmon from various points along the coast. Their results must be made public in other countries. Together with this, Dr. Kristi Miller's funding should be extended for the work she began on the salmon virus, and her results allowed to be published in leading scientific journals. Only then will Pacific Coast salmon's future will improve. |
