The Vickers Vedette is a small wooden flying boat designed and produced in 1924 by Canadian Vickers Ltd. of Montreal. It was the first aircraft designed and built in Canada. In 1925, the R.C.A.F. and some provincial government departments began to use it for the forest fire patrol and aerial photography. Most of the topographical maps we use today are based on photos taken from one of these aircrafts.
