Oldest at graduation

CMAJ 2000;163(3):261

I'm responding to your request for information on the oldest age at graduation among Canadian physicians [Letter].1 I think I must have been one of the oldest medical graduates. I graduated from the University of Toronto medical school in 1995 at the age of 49. One of my son's high school classmates was a classmate of mine in medical school.

I now practise family medicine in the Hamilton area and am forever grateful to the admissions people at the University of Toronto who took a chance on me.

Rachelle Sender
Family physician
Hamilton, Ont.
