Dickson, Russell R., St. Catharines, Ont.; University of Western Ontario, 1944; internal medicine; AACP, FRCPC; former staff, Hotel-Dieu, St. Catharines General, Shaver and Niagara-on-the-Lake hospitals. Died July 30, 2000, aged 80; survived by his wife, Kathleen.

Fallis, Frederick B., Bond Head, Ont.; RCAF, WW II; University of Toronto, 1953; family medicine; CCFP, FCFP; former family physician-in-chief, Toronto General Hospital; director, Telemedicine Ontario; senior medical consultant and director, Telemedicine Canada; tour physician, Toronto Symphony Orchestra; professor and chair, Department of Family and Community Medicine and director and assistant dean, Department of Continuing Education, University of Toronto. Died Aug. 5, 2000, aged 79; survived by his wife, Lois, and children Dr. Geordie, Mary Lou, Bill, Fred Jr., Loie Ann and Betty Joan. His obituary stated: "A loyal and energetic chorister, Fred sang in the Toronto Mendelssohn, Barrie King Edward and Trinity–St. Paul's choirs."

Hain, Cecil W., Oakville, Ont.; University of Toronto, 1926; former medical officer, public health service, United States Consulate. Died Aug. 6, 2000, aged 98; survived by his wife, Betty, and 2 children. His obituary stated: "He served as an elder at Victoria-Royce Presbyterian Church for over 60 years. He took his work seriously but could laugh at the little absurdities of life. His laughter was contagious and we were the better for it."

Hall, John, Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.; University of Western Ontario, 1945; former staff, Sault Ste. Marie General and Plummer Memorial hospitals; medical director, Algoma Steel Corporation. Died Aug. 1, 2000, aged 78.

Harvey, Albert C., Winnipeg; University of Edinburgh (Scotland), 1963; internal medicine; FRCP(Ed.), FRCPC; former attending staff, Health Science Centre and Misericordia General Hospital; assistant professor, University of Manitoba. Died Aug. 15, 2000, aged 62; survived by his wife, Carol.

Hernando, Honesto M., North York, Ont.; University of Santo Tomas (Philippines), 1956; former staff and assistant cardiovascular surgeon, Doctors and Toronto General hospitals; staff, St. Thomas-Elgin Hospital; staff physician, Tuberculosis Sanitarium, The Pas, Man. Died of liver cancer Aug. 18, 2000, aged 70; survived by his wife, Monika, and 4 children. The Toronto Star reported: "In 1957, he came to Canada as an exchange student with 11 other Filipino doctors, including his brother. The 12 were the first people of Filipino descent to work here as physicians."

Ho, Warren C., Toronto; University of Toronto, 1994; neurosurgery resident. Drowned in Georgian Bay Aug. 10, 2000, aged 30; survived by his wife, Beverly.

Killinger-Johnson, Suzanne L., Toronto; University of Western Ontario, 1988; family medicine; CCFP; psychotherapist, East Toronto Health Centre. Committed suicide, apparently as a result of postpartum depression. Died Aug. 19, 2000, aged 37; survived by her husband. Her 6-month-old son, Cuyler, also died when she jumped in front of a subway train.

Kristof, Alexander C., Toronto; University of Budapest (Hungary), 1943; MCFP. Died Aug. 30, 2000, aged 80.

Lassam, Norman J., McMaster University, 1982; medical oncology; FRCPC; former clinician and scientist, Sunnybrook and Women's College Health Sciences Centre; assistant professor, University of Toronto. Died of brain cancer Aug. 12, 2000, aged 47; survived by his wife, Sylvia, and 2 daughters. His obituary stated: "He devoted his career to the study and treatment of cancer, both in the laboratory and at the bedside. He was loved and respected by his friends, colleagues and patients for his compassion, humour, boundless energy and fascination with science and life."

Ozolins, Valdis, Toronto; University of Toronto, 1969; diagnostic radiology; FACR, FRCPC; former staff, Mississauga Hospital. Died Aug. 2, 2000, aged 56.
