He spoke 5 languages fluently and was a lifelong seeker of knowledge and wisdom." Brown, I. His obituary stated: "He was an avid bridge player and keen history buff, a voracious reader, an enthusiastic gardener and a devoted grandfather to his 10 grandchildren. His retirement was well spent."
