Died of breast cancer Nov. 23, 2000, aged 60; survived by 3 children, and her companion, Dr. Michel Lafortune. The Montreal Gazette reported: "She developed a Renaissance woman's range of interests: she played the viola da gamba, sang in choirs, ran marathons and hiked in the Alps." In November, her daughter Dr. Lara accepted a lifetime-achievement award from the American Association of Women Radiologists on her mother's behalf. Stewart, W.
