General Services

General Services provides an extremely diverse range of services for the University of Manitoba, primarily, but not limited to, the Fort Garry Campus. These include grounds management, general maintenance and related activities such as arboriculture, horticulture, landscaping, snow removal, road and sidewalk maintenance and much more.

General Services is also responsible for handling materials such as waste hauling, truck messenger service, mail, library, bookstore, audio/visual and central stores deliveries as well as the operation of the Wallace Building storage facility,. We also assist in trades and transportation services for staff and students with disabilities and are responsible for the maintenance of a fleet of approximately 50 vehicles (ranging from vans, dump trucks, riding mowers, garbage trucks, etc.)

General Services assists departments and outside groups with the planning and co-ordination of special events, including setups as required. Examples are convocation, exams, the Manitoba Marathon and Campus Beautification Day.
