This article highlights my personal experience as an online learner. I trained as an online instructor in 2009. My observation is that whether the interactions were synchronic or asynchronic, the participants were able to interact and maintain a stream of discussions throughout the period of eTraining. The most important factor was for the facilitator to keep ensuring that each student was participating. The role of the facilitator is guide the discussions and to motivate the students.

A common interest has to exist amongst the participants for discussions to flow and learning to take place. Online learning takes the acceptance that each participant is a learner as well as a teacher.
