CONCLUSION

The type specimen of Eubrontes (?) glenrosensis Shuler (1935) represents a unique cultural and scientific heritage for Texas. Its placement in the bandstand in the Somervell County Courthouse square in Glen Rose, Texas, has given it a place of honor that to this day still attracts visitors from all over. However, continual exposure to the elements means that eventually this footprint will be lost to erosion. In this paper, we have demonstrated that with the use of a 3D laser scanner, the type specimen can be preserved as a baseline, to allow quantification of future erosion, and provide high-resolution 3D digital models necessary for scientific research and distribution.
