About
Lex Electronica was founded by Prof. Karim Benyekhlef in 1995, with a view to developing information and communications technology law. Since 2014, Prof. Vincent Gautrais is director of the journal.
An international law journal, the review's purpose was to feature to public and legal scholars changes regarding law and technology, not just information technologies but also life and health technologies. It was launched as the first french-speaking online law journal, and one of the first legal online journal worldwide.
Today, the journal covers many more themes beside Law and Technology, and includes articles regarding Law and Society and Law, Health and Environment, the Centre de recherche en droit public's two others areas of research.
The journal thus encompasses a range of topics to encourage dialogue and further research in law and related areas.

Editorial policy and ethics
Except for some special issues, Lex Electronica only publishes original, previously unpublished texts, drafted in French or in English.
Every text submitted for publication must be exclusive to the journal.
Submissions take place upon the reception of the proposed article. The Editorial team will then be asked to examine the proposal. A proposal will either be accepted or refused.
Upon reception, the Editorial team will transmit the article to the Scientific Committee for a general review. Should it feel necessary to do so, the Scientific Committee may request that the author make certain corrections to the article's content. The author must follow the panel's recommendations before presenting a new version of his article to the Editorial Committee. The author must also respect the stipulations outlined in the Editing Charter.
Articles held for publication will appear in one of the following issues of Lex Electronica.
Editorial board
The Editorial Team is in charge of selecting the publication's theme, collecting submitted articles, ensuring proper communication between the Scientific Committee and the authors, proofreading and editing the texts to be published.
