Council & Committees

The College’s Council sets the direction for the regulation of the nursing profession in Ontario. Council establishes the goals, objectives and policies of the College according to the governing legislation.

In addition to Council, the College also has statutory committees as described in the legislation, standing committees and may appoint ad hoc committees. Committees are composed of Council and non-Council members.

Every year, College members have the opportunity to run for election to Council or volunteer to sit on one of the College’s statutory committees. Election nomination forms are sent out to members in the fall, while the committee appointments process begins in the spring.

The Code of Ethical Conduct is a guideline for appropriate individual and collective behaviour of Council and committee members, at and away from the College.
