Deployment of armed border officers at the Peace Bridge to be announced

Fort Erie, Ontario, August 30, 2007--Tomorrow, the Honourable Rob Nicholson, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, on behalf of the Honourable Stockwell Day, Minister of Public Safety, will make an announcement regarding armed border services officers at the Peace Bridge border crossing in Fort Erie, Ontario.

Senior officials from the Canada Border Services Agency will be available to answer technical questions following the announcement.

Directions from Buffalo: Cross the Peace Bridge. Report to border services officers at primary booths for clearance and parking. 

Directions from Toronto: Take the QEW Niagara to Fort Erie. Exit at Central Avenue. Turn left onto Central Avenue and take first right onto Queen Street. At the bottom of Queen Street, go straight ahead and then to the right where there are two parking lots.
