St. Stephen, New Brunswick, May 26, 2008 -- The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) would like to inform the public that effective Tuesday, May 27, at 7 a.m., all Canada-bound commercial traffic, including commercial and vehicle importations, arriving at the Ferry Point International Bridge at the port of St. Stephen will be rerouted to the Milltown border crossing.
Signs are posted in the town of St. Stephen, in the city of Calais and at various locations to redirect commercial traffic.
The decision to reroute traffic was made as a safety precaution due to imposed weight restrictions on the commercial inspection deck area at the Ferry Point International Bridge.
This rerouting should not have an impact on the travelling public. U.S.-bound traffic at both the St. Stephen and Milltown border crossings is not affected at this time.
To check the latest border wait times, visit the CBSA’s Web site at www.cbsa.gc.ca.
