The FAST membership card is valid for five years provided that the member continues to meet all the terms and conditions of the program and complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
The non-refundable FAST driver application fee is $50 (payable in Canadian or U.S. funds). There is no fee for FAST carriers or importers.
FAST into Canada
FAST builds on the Customs Self Assessment (CSA) program as well as on the increased security measures under the Partners in Protection (PIP) program. Importers and carriers must be approved in the CSA program and must have signed a PIP memorandum of understanding to be eligible for the FAST program.
FAST into the United States
FAST is a clearance process for low-risk shipments. Any truck using FAST lanes must be a U.S. Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT)-approved carrier and transporting qualifying goods for a C-TPAT-approved importer. The driver must have a valid FAST driver card.
