2008-09-17

  • This memorandum has been revised to reflect all relevant regulatory and policy changes made since March 26, 1993.
  • Three of the more significant changes are as follows:
    1. The Customs Brokers Licensing Regulations have been removed from Memorandum D1-8-1. However, they do still apply and can be found on the Department of Justice website.
    2. The Licensing Advisory Committee (LAC) now consists of representatives of the CBSA, the Canadian customs brokerage industry and the Canadian import and export industry. Furthermore, the LAC now advises on matters related to the licensing of customs brokers.
