- The attached pages 5-6 and 9-10 are to be replaced in Memorandum D8-1-2 dated November 15, 2007.
- The key changes are as follows:
- Effective January 1, 2008, the rate of the GST and the federal component of the HST was reduced from 6% to 5%. The provincial component of the HST remains at 8%.
- For more information on the GST/HST rate reduction, call 1-866-959-7797. This toll-free hotline service is available from 8:15 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (local time), Monday to Friday.
