Fellowship Award Overview

The Fellowship Award provides financial support to academics who are recognized for their expertise and excellence in areas important to the Bank's mandate (macroeconomics, monetary economics, international finance, financial markets and institutions, financial stability and regulation, labour economics, and economic growth) and who are undertaking leading-edge research that contributes to the development of knowledge and research capabilities in those areas.

Fellowship Award recipients are required to:

• be Canadian citizens or eligible to work in Canada;


• have obtained a PhD;


• be employed by a Canadian university in a teaching position during the tenure of the Fellowship.

The Fellowship Award consists of:

• a $50,000 stipend per year, and
• a maximum of $15,000 per year available to recipients for related research expenses, and
• a maximum of $25,000 per year available to recipients for research assistants

The Fellowship term is for a five-year period subject to an annual confirmation process. Recipients may apply for a second five-year term.

Nominations and Applications must be submitted by 15 November.
