Canadians who receive benefits, whether GST/HST Tax Credit. (A business owner is serving a father and child. By , the Government of Canada will be eliminating cheques (a mailman delivering letters to a mailbox so enrolling in direct deposit now will save time later (a man is seen using a laptop). 

Enrolling is easy, (a person is shown typing on a computer keyboard) simply go to directdeposit.gc.ca. The words directdeposit.gc.ca appear on a grey screen) or the Canada Revenue Agency's My Account site (the words cra-arc.gc.ca appear on a grey screen) or use Service Canada My Account to sign up (the words servicecanada.gc.ca appear on a grey screen. Interested consumers may also visit their bank where an agent can help you fill out the necessary forms. (A couple is shown talking with a man).

From time to time Canadians will receive an enrolment form with their benefit cheques. (A woman is shown opening an envelope and looking at a form). If help is needed to fill out the form, a Service Canada officer is willing to help at 1 800 O Canada.

When filling out the form, provide all the details related to your personal information and check off all the payments you receive from the Government of Canada. (A person is shown starting to fill out a form).

For example, if you receive an income tax refund and old age security benefits, check off the boxes next to both payment types. (A sample form appears on the screen to demonstrates how to choose different payment types).

In order to direct a payment to your bank account you will need to provide your banking information or attach a voided cheque. (A person is shown completing their banking information on the form).

This is a personal cheque of the account you want your direct deposit payments to go into, with the word "VOID" written across the front. (A sample cheque appears on a grey screen to demonstrate how to VOID a cheque).

If you don't have cheques, or the account you choose is not a chequing account, you can obtain this information by visiting your bank. (A women is shown visiting a bank). You can have your bank stamp the appropriate area in Part C of the enrolment form. (An image of part C (banking information) of the form appears on the screen). This will ensure that your account number is properly registered for your direct deposit. (An image of letters being deposited into a mailbox is shown).

Once you've reviewed, signed and dated the form, mail it to the address indicated on the form itself.
