Washington Office

The Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) Washington Office was established in 1951 and is located at the Embassy of Canada in Washington, D.C. It is the only Government of Canada accredited organization for defence-related end-to-end contractual arrangements in the United States (U.S.). The Office represents PWGSC in Washington to:

  • Act as the single window for Canadian purchases of defence articles, services and training from U.S. Department of Defence through the U.S. Foreign Military Sales,
  • Support and assist specific business lines in their dealings with U.S. counterparts, such as the application of security safeguards in contracting processes and the management of public buildings,
  • Support Canada's International Cooperation Initiative to facilitate the exchange of best practices and explore areas of common interest with its U.S. counterparts, and,
  • Build and leverage relationships with the U.S. government, international counterparts and embassy partners to advocate on common issues and advance departmental files and governmental objectives.

Koblenz Office

The PWGSC Europe Office located in Koblenz, Germany, was opened in 1957 and is the point of contact for all Government of Canada procurement in Europe, Africa and Asia. It provides the Government of Canada with procurement of goods and services, and assets disposal, mainly for the Department of National Defence and its Deployed Operations overseas in the following areas:

  • Procurement of goods and services,
  • Post contract management,
  • Project management,
  • Crown assets disposal,
  • After sales service and support,
  • Turn-key projects and operations,
  • Construction, and,
  • Assistance for Canadian exporters.

The Koblenz Office provides procurement services, support and assistance to:

  • The Canadian Deployed Operation abroad for the Army, the Royal Canadian Air Force and the Royal Canadian Navy,
  • Canadian war memorials (67) in France and Belgium, including a Visitation Center at Beaumont Hamel and the Restoration of Vimy Ridge Memorial, and,
  • On-going requirements for the support of the Victoria Class Submarines.
