Mandatory courses for all financial officers (FI):

  1. F111 - Financial Management Control Frameworks** (3 days)
  2. F112 - Government Planning, Budgeting, Reporting and Evaluation Cycle** (2 days)
  3. F113 - Financial Management Systems** (2 days)

**Please note that all Public service employees currently in the financial management group (FI) who are part of the core public administration and who also have less than five years of experience in that occupational group as of September 1, 2010, are required to take all three courses within three years of that date. For new hires in a financial management position, the three-year timeframe for course completion will commence on the day they join the Public Service. (Back to **)

  1. T008 - Writing in Clear and Concise Language (3 days)***
  2. T034 - Writing Targeted Briefing Notes (1 day)
  3. T037 - Creating Powerful Presentations (2 days)****

***The course "Writing in Clear and Concise Language" (code T008) offered by the Canada School of Public Service, has replaced former courses code T007 & T017. So, employees who have followed courses T007 and/or T017 in the past do not have to register for T008, this one being equivalent. (Back to ***)

****The course "Creating Powerful Presentations" (code T037) offered by the Canada School of Public Service has replaced former course "Effective Communication: Presentations" (code T010).
